Lily Collins as Katniss Everdeen?

I may be fed to the Muttations for recommending this actress as Katniss, but I recently saw The Blind Side and thought that Lilly Collins did a fantastic job in that film. She is beautiful and striking, but also possesses the athletic build that would be needed to play Katniss Everdeen. I know that it is so difficult to cast Katniss because she is such a prominent figure in our minds. We have a certain image of Katniss and it will be EXTREMELY difficult to find an actress that fits the mold that millions of readers have structured. What do you think? Would Lily Collins make a great Katniss Everdeen? Yay or Nay?

Remember the hoop-lah after Robert Pattinson was cast as Edward Cullen? I do! I was one of the naysayers but eventually learned to love Catherine Hardwick's choice for EC. I can't imagine anyone else as Edward, and would disown the franchise if they recast him for Breaking Dawn. So before you shoot me down, picture Lily Collins with a bow and arrow, dodging balls of flame and avoiding the deadly stings of trackerjackers!

    lol so funny she's my pick to play Clary from the Mortal Intruments series in the movie I think she'd be a great Clary I don't see her as Katniss.
    What do you think of Olivia Thirlby to play Katniss?!?! I think she'd be gr8

    I didn't know there is to be a Mortal Instruments movie! Oooooh, I will totally blog about that because I love that series! I will google Olivia Thirlby and see what I think. Katniss is going to be so hard for them to cast!

    I totally agree with you. I think she did an awesome job in the movie. I also think she is very gorgeous, and could be one of the next gossip girls. Dont you think?

    I just saw the Blind Side tonight and about halfway though I started imagining her as Katniss. But she's 21 now so it might be pushing it...

    to me she's not fierce-looking enough--she looks too soft and delicate and girly, not fierce, but maybe makeup could do the job...?

    Omg! Yeah, sure, she looks a little soft but she's posing! People smile and try to look innocent or sexy. If she can be Clary (which is a stretch) she can be Katniss. If you don't believe me go to http://www.thehungergames.co.uk/who_will_you_support
    Is it just me, or does the picture of her with brown hair look EXACTLY like the Katniss character????
