NEW MOON Deleted Scene!

How many of you are ready for the New Moon DVD release? Stupid question! Target recently released this deleted scene to promote it's DVD release of New Moon in March. I'm stoked about the special features and CAN NOT wait until March. Do you know how many release dates I'm anxiously awaiting? I guess that just means I have MANY interests, right?

Secrets from New Moon

Chris Weitz shares little details he's put into the film in this slide show from Entertainment Weekly. I think I will be seeing the film for a FOURTH time this holiday season, just to see for myself if I can spot the secrets. Anyone want to join me?

Taylor Lautner to Host SNL This Weekend!

Sorry I've been M.I.A. this week. I've been doing my job lately, I guess, and I haven't had the energy to blog. My students participated in my annual Greasers vs. Socs Relay Rumble this week, and at the end of both days, I was bushed! If you haven't read The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, get on top of that, stat! We had a blast with the different challenges, and I would love to post pics of my students racing, but the different privacy laws I have to follow are a pain in the ass! Sorry. Anywhoo, I have great news to brighten your weekend! Taylor Lautner is hosting Saturday Night Live on the 13th. Not only do I get to enjoy celebrating my daughter's 4th birthday, but I will also have a night of Taylor and Twilight spoofs to look forward to this Saturday. Yippeeee!

The 3rd Highest Opening in Movie History!

Chris Weitz's New Moon has raked in over 258 million globally. That's a butt-load, friends! Entertainment Weekly has taken note and is giving all three leading characters their own cover. I wonder which will be in my mailbox next week? Another great thing about EW is that they've quoted Chris Weitz considering taking the Breaking Dawn reigns if it's offered to him. He confesses that Summit hasn't asked him to take on BD, but that he'd “do it for Stephenie, Rob, Taylor, and Kristen. I feel a great deal of gratitude for those people,” says Weitz. “But I don’t think I could do another press tour like we did. I just think I would die.” Summit, please call Weitz...PLEASE!

Miley Cyrus is an Idiot and Here's a Great Review of New Moon

There are lots of haters out there when it comes to the Twilight Saga. I'm not sure why they are so prevalent **cough, cough, Miley Cyrus, cough, cough* but I have theory about Twilight bashers. (Btw, Miley, you are a dumb ass for slamming Twilight because nearly 100% of your fans fall into the Twilight fan base age range. Moron. You probably don't even know how to read, so I'm sure that's why you do not like the books. It would require more effort to objectively judge them than would, say, shopping or smacking your gum while "thankin' God and Jesus" for making you a huge celebrity.) Click on this article: Miley Cyrus Bashes Twilight - Wont' Be Seeing New Moon for more info on what I'm talking about. She's a douche.

Like anything that is popular among the masses, there are always those "rebels" who claim to hate anything that the rest of us like because they like to tick us off. Remember that kid on the playground when you were younger, and it was FREEZING outside, and that dip-stick kid would claim that is "wasn't cold" and insist on not wearing his/her jacket to prove to the rest of us that we were stupid? I'm sure that kid is now an adult that claims the Twilight Sage is "stupid", when I bet that jacka@&* has never even read the books. That is the same kind of guy who usually works as a movie review critic.

Very, very RARELY do I agree with a movie critic. Some of my favorite movies are constantly slammed by cinematic "experts", and many of my favorite books are not considered literary greats. Usually movies that are critical "darlings" are boring and suck or are so depressing, you can't get through them. After reading several reviews of New Moon, I'm PISSED. They keep saying things like "if you're not a fan of the books" you won't like New Moon, or New Moon moves too slowly for non-readers of the series. Then read the FREAKIN' SERIES and quit your whining. Same with Harry Potter films, READ THE BOOK if you think the movie is confusing or doesn't explain everything the way you think it should. Chris Weitz has been quoted several times, stating that he made this movie for fans of the book. READ THE BOOKS, PEOPLE, then we might actually care about your opinion of the movie.

If you want to read a review that is objective and honest, check out Lisa Schwarzbaum's review of New Moon.

New Moon Premiere - AWESOMENESS!

We saw the 9:00 showing of Twilight, and were ready and eager for New Moon to begin!

WOW! I expected greatness and wasn't disappointed. Chris Weitz, you made a beautiful movie that was true to the book and even (dare I say) exceeded the novel's imagery as a whole. The colors, the effects, the music, the acting, were all phenomenal! New Moon kicked Twilight's butt and then came back for a second jack-slap! New Moon was a HOME RUN, and I really wish Weitz would sign on for Breaking Dawn. Batter up, David Slade!

Rachell Lefevre's Recent Twitter About Eclipse & New Moon Premiere

"2 fans at the premiere: w/ Honey in hospital & being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it. So sorry"
I follow Rachelle on Twitter, and when I read her most recent tweet tonight, my heart broke for her! I'm sure it is so difficult to attend the premiere, knowing that you will not be a part of the next film. I'm so disappointed they didn't keep her on for Eclipse. The images of her in the New Moon Illustrated Companion are so beautiful and breathtaking. I'm not sure if her replacement can pull off her unique look! Ugh. Her firing better not screw up Eclipse's dynamic, but a part of me is convinced it will....

Another Reason Entertainment Weekly Was Worth the Subscription...

I have 'script to US Weekly, and I'm prefering Entertainment Weekly over that mag each week. US seems to have more paparazzi shots of stars, but the information in EW is way more interesting to me than US. Not only does EW have great articles on books and have tons of reviews for TV and movies, but it seems to feature my Twilight actors on a regular basis. Check out this week's cover of EW that is soon to be in my mailbox:

Can You Guess Which Movie Had a Fatter Budget???

Take a gander at the newly released New Moon Cullen's poster....

Now, compare the poster to the Cullen's Twilight promotional photo.....
I'm guessing that Twilight is considered "minor league" and New Moon is about to be ranked in the "big leagues" of cinematic production. I don't want to blame the mediocre look of Twilight on budget alone. Many of the cast and crew that worked on both films have praised Weitz for his professionalism, organization, efficiency and vision. Catherine Hardwick, on the other hand, has been called a "mess" by some sources when it comes to her directorial style. Just from viewing her commentary on the DVD extras in Twilight, I can see her as being a "free spirit" and a bit scatterbrained, but that's just the impression I got from her clips and reading her Director's Notebook she wrote after the release of Twilight. I hope I'm not pubbing Chris Weitz up and then setting myself up for disappointment after November 20th! Chris, I hope you do New Moon fans proud and knock our socks off!!! I am eagerly awaiting the release of New Moon, because of YOU...I'm hoping that what was my least favorite book in the series will be my favorite movie.

Could I Be a Tad Pathetic for Watching This OVER and OVER?

I probably shouldn't admit that I like to watch Robert Pattinson locking lips repeatedly with Kristen, but he's just so darn good at it. Not necessarily Robert Pattinson, per se, but just him playing Edward. Ole' Rob is a little too rough around the edges for me in real life. Now Edward, on the other hand, is perfectly acceptable. I love how he looks like he wants to eat Kristen's face. It's awesome. Even though some of Kristen's acting methods annoy me (she does a lot of uncomfortable gasping...sorry, Kristen fans, but it bothers me), I think Robert has EC down pat. Do you remember reading this part of New Moon, and Bella describes his kiss as crushing, yet sad? This might be the scene...their last kiss...for a while, at least!

Brief But Sweet New Moon Clip!

It seems silly for me to say this, but Rob and Kristen look so comfortable together in this scene...it makes me wonder how "comfortable" they are with each other in real life. You can't fake chemistry. Watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith and then ask Brad and Angelina if they were faking that spark during filming. Just sayin'.

More New Pictures From the New Moon Set...

Entertainment Weekly has added more pictures from the set of New Moon to its growing album. Click on my favorite new picture (posted above) for a direct link to the compilation. I love the hands of Mike and Jacob on the arm rest, waiting for Bella to choose. Again, Weitz is being sure to stay true to the book in this scene...LOVE IT!

Edward and Bella's Leaked Break-Up Scene...OMG!

I'm such a fan of this director! Chris Weitz, you rock. This was exactly like the book and I hope the rest of the film is this spot-on!

Entertainment Tonight - New Moon Clip!

I'm becoming a Jacob fan more and more each day! I'm pretty sure Bella's hand would be shattered if she punched Paul, but maybe they address that later on in the clip!

Another fabulous pic from the New Moon Illustrated Companion. New Moon: A Grade "A" Soundtrack

I love reading reviews, and lately Entertainment Weekly reviews seem to be stingy when it comes to doling out "A" reviews. Anything associated with the Twilight Saga is usually considered "too mainstream" to be recognized for artistic merit. However, the New Moon soundtrack is breaking that trend with it's recent grade of "A" in Entertainment Weekly magazine this week! EW reviewer, Leah Greenblatt states:

On a good day, film soundtracks enhance the moviegoing experience. At their best, they transcend it. The latest sonic accompaniment to Twilight's inescapable teen-vampire juggernaut — a swooning conveyance of girl-meets-undead-boy romance, delivered by some of the best established and emerging names in the indie stratosphere — may sway even the most committed Twi-loathers.

The Twilight soundtrack had to grow on me before I fell in love with it, but I'm eager to try out the New Moon soundtrack! Pick it up in stores or on ITunes October 20th.
