I LOVE TARGET!

Dark denim jeans, cute top...perfecto with these bad boys!

New Moon in Italy

Personally, the ending to New Moon is my favorite part of the entire Twilight series. (Except, of course, the creation of the Cullen bambino, Ren-ess-a-me-don't-know-how-to-spell-her-name!). I'm sure if these pics from newmoonthemovie.org are accurate, the ending to the film could live up to my lofty expectations! Me likey!

Jacob Black's House/Shed

Oddly enough, this is very similiar to how I pictured Jacob's pad in my head!

Swim Suit Season (a.k.a My Personal Hell) is Around the Corner

I remember the good ole' days of eating like a pig, and then having my high school coaches work me like a borrowed mule to burn off all of those donuts and cokes. Today, I would have to pay someone to yell at me to workout (personal trainer), but I can't afford the cost! I bought this book two summers ago by a guy named Harley Pasternak called The Five Factor Diet. For three weeks before leaving on our trip to Vegas that year, I followed it religiously and saw awesome results. Yes, I know, three weeks isn't much time, but it was crazy how quickly my body responded. My lazy butt dug out of my book cabinet yesterday and I've decided to give it a go again. The book's workout plan is short, intense, and very easy to do in your own home. I bought three sets of dumbells at 10lbs, 15lbs, and 20lbs and a big excercise ball, and that is all I need to complete the daily workouts. Check it out, if you too are needing to downsize for swimsuit weather!

I Heart Sparkly Vampires!

One last post before I hit the sack. Tomorrow better not be as craptastic as today! Too bad I can't afford a cafepress.com tee to wear to work everyday...

This is what I said to my husband after watching my Twilight DVD for the 800th time this weekend:

Kid on a Leash...

I will be the first to admit that my kids (both under the age of five) are total turds when I take them out in public. It's like they know I won't do bodily harm to them around other people...way to go, CPS! ;) Anywhoo, I was shopping with my hyper-active kids at the grocery store this weekend and we saw a child wearing one of these:
I know the purpose of them and everything, but it was so sad to see it in person! Even my girls were like, "Mommy, why's that kid wearin' a rope?" It totally resembled a leash that we use to walk our dogs, but disguised as a friendly, furry "backpack". The backpack aspect of the product did not, in anyway, down play the "rope" trailing from the little one's back that was TIED TO HIS MOTHER'S CART! I didn't know whether to pat the child on the head as we passed by, or toss him a cookie!

Time for a Pedi...

Because you will want to wear these flip-flops everyday. We Texas girls love us some Yellow Box brand flip-flops. They are the most comfy, and definitely the cutest pair of flops you will ever own...EVER.

The Perfect Satchel @ the Perfect Price!

City Style Pyramid Stud Drawstring Hobo from New York & Company, on sale for $11.99! Everyone needs a white purse for Spring, and I now can justify buying a new one for this price! Holy Batman!

Better Off Without the Tool Bag!

I'm a fan of Dancing With the Stars, and my favorite contender this season just so happens to be my former favorite contender on The Bachelor. That was also before I wanted to yank a certain bachelor's you-know-what and wrap it around his neck! Melissa Rycroft is doing a fantastic job on the show, and is looking smokin' hot, too. It looks to me that the real winner in the Molly vs. Melissa showdown is the girl wearing the rhinestones and self-tanner...

The Wolf Pack is HOTTTTT!

Summit just released this statement concerning the casting of the Wolf Pack for the New Moon movie:

"SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT RUNS WITH THE WOLF PACK IN THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON
Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman to Star as Members of Wolf Pack
Los Angeles, CA — March 23, 2009 — Summit Entertainment announced today that Native American/First Nation actors Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman have signed on to star as the members of the wolf pack in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON. In the film, the wolf pack defends humans against vampires although they have a tribal history intricately entwined with Edward Cullen and his family. The wolf pack members will join Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and fellow wolf pack member Taylor Lautner in the film directed by Chris Weitz which will be released domestically November 20, 2009."

Check out this pic of Alex Meraz and Taylor Lautner from newmoonthemovie.org...TASTY!

Pastey Like a Cullen?

This self-tanner is THE BEST I've ever used, and it is only $9.99 at most drug stores! Everytime I wear it, I get tons of compliments about my "tan"! My dermatologist even scolded me for going to the tanning bed the last time I was in her office, and was shocked when I told her it was self-tanner. Give it a whirl if you're needing a nice glow this spring!

That's A LOT of DVDs!

What crazy, rabid fans to stand in line at midnight for a silly DVD of Twilight! Um.....yeah, I was a part of the 3 million crazy, rabid fans. I probably should of realized I was too old to be standing in line when I saw ELEVEN of my students in said line. Any-whooo, I thought it was interesting (and somewhat validating) to know that I'm not the only one cuckoo for this book series and movie!

New Robert Pattinson Photos...

You can thank me later! YUMMY AND DELICIOUS!

According to newmoonmovie.org: "Here are two new Robert Pattinson photoshoots scanned in from foreign magazines that I haven’t seen yet. They’re both from Japan, evidently taken during the recent press tour for Twilight. Twicrack dug up both of these–one from rekcusho at Lion & Lamb, and the other from PinkLien on IMDB."

My FINGERS are to Blame!

Who knew that my "aggressive nature" is all because I have a ring finger longer than my index finger? I guess the next time I get pissed at Donnie, I can throw my hands in the air and say, "Look, it's my fingers fault, okay?". Sounds wacky, I know, but according to an article I read in this week's USA WEEKEND,titled "Your Fate is in Your Fingers" by Rayhaneh Fathieh, our fingers can be "feminized or masculine". How do you know which traits your hand possesses?
  • Is your ring finger longer than your index finger?

For my slow readers, your index finger is the one you point with, or make a "number one". (I say this not be insulting, because being the blonde that I am, I shamefully had to ask Donnie which finger was my index finger...I know, I'm teaching the youth of America. SCARY!) If your ring finger is longer (like my own), you have a masculanized ratio. Scientists attribute masculanized ratio individuals to exhibit traits like aggressiveness, insensitivity (so that's why I don't give a crap about feelings!), and enhanced athletic abilities. They are also said to be good at math, which is a trait I don't possess out of this list. The scientists go on to say that "pre-birth exposure to testosterone affects finger length, as well as our behavior as adults." That must be why I need to have my lip waxed twice a month. Hmmm....

  • Is your index finger longer than your ring finger?

According to the article, "then you have a feminized pattern that relates to high neuroticism" (which means you might be a bit on the OCD side, if you know what I'm sayin'!), "the tendency to worry or complain and better verbal skills". Why didn't they just say if you have a uterus you possess these qualities, too. This isn't some stunning scientific break-through, morons. I hope we aren't providing tax dollars for this kind of "research"! How about these "scientists" mentioned in this study scoot on over to the cancer research center??? I'm just sayin'!

According to our prestigious scientists quoted in this article, this hand model is "masculinized".

Gotta Get this Gloss!

Named as one of Instyle Magazine's Best Beauty Buys of 2009, this gloss is currently my favorite thing in my purse!

This is what the editors of INSTYLE have to say about it:

"Cover Girl Wetslicks Amaze Mint
EDITORS' PICK We love a double agent. This lightweight gloss delivers breath-freshening peppermint oil and comes in blue-based red, plum and pink shades designed to make teeth look whiter. "

I wonder if the minty-freshness on my lips makes my breath smell better?

How to Make the Ultimate Cup of Joe

I probably drink too much coffee....is an entire pot of coffee a day bad for you? Oh, well, you don't have to live with my children, so don't judge me. It's either the coffee or crack, and like Whitney says, "Crack is whack." It has taken many years, but I have perfected my technique for making a yummy cup of Joe. Trust me when I say, that not all coffee is the same. The crap they serve at diners and convenience stores is not coffee. If coffee has been out for over an hour, throw it away. Coffee is just like milk or any other perishable commodity - it CAN and WILL go bad!

I'm not sure which kid I was nursing, but during my early morning vigils with my daughters who never sleep, I caught a morning show interview with a supposed "coffee connoisseur." Here are some of the "Rules" to making a great cup of coffee that I remember and still follow:

1. Use Whole Beans - that doesn't mean you have to go and buy a grinder (which I recommend) because most grocery stores have a coffee grinder right in the coffee aisle of the store. I whole-heartily recommend the Arriba brand carried at United Supermarkets. You will know the beans are fresh if they look shiny and almost greasy. My favorite Arriba whole beans are the "Snickerdoodle" beans. Yummy!

2. Use Filtered Water - if the water tastes like crap, your coffee will taste like poo-poo, too.

3. Measure correctly - I tablespoon of grounds to one cup of filtered water. If you are making a full pot of coffee, then you need six to seven tablespoons of grounds. I like a stronger pot, so I usually do eight tablespoon of grounds.

4. Creamer makes all the difference - I LOVE the refrigerated, liquid Coffeemate creamer, preferably the Hazelnut flavor. All you need is this creamer and nothing else! You will not need to add extra sugar because this is sweet enough to double as both creamer and sugar.

5. Throw out old coffee - as I said before, coffee is best right after you make it. You will notice a change in flavor (for the worst) after coffee has been sitting out for an hour. Make a new pot if you don't want to waste your creamer on a sucky batch of coffee.
6. Invest in a great coffee pot - Cuisinart has the best line of coffee pots, and if you want to throw out the big bucks, you can invest in a pot that also has the grinder built in! The gold filters also bring out the best flavor in your coffee beans.

So there you have it! The best pot of coffee in town! Give it a try tomorrow morning, and I promise you won't go back to your old ways of coffee consumption!

Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler

I bought this book, Kissed by an Angel at Barnes and Noble, basically because my teen students have been telling me how great it is, and after a student recommendation is what started me on my Twilight addiction, I pretty much read anything they tell me to now! I read the first book in the trilogy in one day -yes, it was that good! Here is the most simplistic summary of the book I can give you, because there is too much going on to make it short and sweet!
Ivy has lived a hard life in her short seventeen years, and only her unshakable faith in Angels has helped her survive and make it through a rough childhood. Her father dies when she is a little girl and her mother dates a slew of men (some of which were VERY unkind to Ivy and her little brother, Phillip). Her mother finally marries the man she'd been having an affair with, but Ivy and her brother are not excited to move in to their new step-father's mansion. Ivy is also apprehensive about living in the same house as Gregory, her cold and calculating step brother, who also happens to be in the same grade as Ivy.
Things seem to be looking up for Ivy, when she meets and falls for Tristan, the attractive and athletic school jock. Tristan and Ivy seem to be made for each other, and fall hopelessly in love. A tragic accident takes the life of Tristan and leaves Ivy alone, depressed an miserable, but Tristan finds a way back to Ivy....as her guardian angel! Tristan must now figure out his mission on earth, and decipher the reality behind his sudden, and seemingly accidental death. Can he get through to Ivy, and prove to her that he's still with her? Can Ivy overcome her anger at the universe for taking away her beloved Tristan? What is the motive behind Gregory's odd and friendly behavior towards Ivy?
This book is a pleasant combination of the movie Ghost and the HBO show, Dead Like Me. I found it extremely interesting and easy to follow, but at the same time complex and thought-provoking. I love the premise of a relationship transcending the boundaries of heaven and earth. I'm eager to start the second book, The Power of Love.

This Makes My Heart Happy...

Pictures from the set of the New Moon movie:
Die-hard fans, do you know what this is in the bed of Bella's truck? Even though I am TEAM EDWARD all the way, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Need a good book to read while you are waiting for New Moon to come out in theaters? The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is an amazing book! Even though it is nothing like the Twilight series, it is a novel that will leave you craving for its sequel, that is to be released in September of '09. Similar to George Orwell's 1984, or Margaret Atwood's, The Handmaid's Tale, The Hunger Games is a dystopian novel set in the republic of Panem, which is formerly located in what would be the United States. To punish the districts for organizing a rebellion against the capitol, each district must select two teenagers to participate in the annual Hunger Games competition, in which every minute will be broad casted on live television. The Hunger Games is not your typical reality program. Contestants are dropped into a controlled environment arena and must fight to the death in order to win the competition. The last man (or woman) standing wins The Games, and an enormous amount of wealth and prosperity for themselves and their family.

Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of the novel, has chosen to take the place of her little sister, whose name was drawn for District 12, the poorest district of Panem. Katniss isn't your ordinary 16 year old. She illegally hunts for food in the surrounding forests to keep her starving mother and sister alive, so she knows a thing or two about survival. Kat's skills with a bow and arrow make her an early favorite and contender for The Games. Katniss must choose between her humanity and survival in this page-turning, heart gripping battle royale!

Lenzi Likes It....a new blog for me!

"Lenzi Likes It" is going to be a place for me to voice my ever-present opinions and share a bit of my life with you. I want to keep this seperate from my girls' blog, mainly because I don't want my random posts to detract from their update blog. A lot of the people who look at our family blog could care less about my personal opinion! I was going to start this blog as a "teen book review site", but realized that I have more I want to talk about than books. So whether you agree with me or not, "Lenzi Likes It" is fun place for me to converse and share with you!
