Collins describes Gale as having dark hair and light eyes. He looks so similiar to Katniss that they could easily be related. She doesn't get the fact that she must be good looking if that is the case, because Gale is a hottie. The other girls in school talk about him, and he is obviously in love with Katniss. Who could encompass these qualities without being too "Hollywood"? I found an actor by the name of Adam Gregory, who is currently starring in the new 90210 series. Yes, he is attractive, well, okay, he's amazingly fine...but he seems so much like the Gale I pictured in my mind, I nearly screamed when I found his picture!

ReplyDeleteCasting will be so hard for Gale and Katniss because Collins constantly alludes to the fact that they could be cousins because their look is so similiar. Tough job for casting agents for BOTH characters! It is so hard to find actors that are in the 17 year old range...I hate it when they cast 25 year olds to play teens, so I was trying to stay young with this one, but not too young.

He makes some pretty good points.
If they need to choose someone who will look like whoever they choose for Katniss, Gale could also be played by Nico Totorella, Drew Roy, or Robert Adamson. They're all pretty young.

ReplyDeleteso i love the hunger games more than any other book i have ever read (which is A LOT) and i absolutley LOATHE gale. i hate him with every bit of emotion i can muster up. so personally i think this guy is too good for him.

ReplyDeleteI happened to stumble upon your blog when searching for perfect cast members for the Hunger Games movie, and I LOVE all of your choices! I think this is a PERFECT Gale, and your choices for Katniss and Peeta are great as well! Though I think Lucy Hale just needs to look a bit tougher, then I could definitely see her as Katniss. And I think it is AWESOME that you teach The Hunger Games to your students, I am a teacher also and would love to be able to teach this book, love the t-shirt idea! This book series is amazing..keep spreading the love for The Hunger Games! :D
ReplyDeleteDefiantly no to any Twilight stars. ESPECIALLY KRISTIN STEWART! I will not see the movie AT ALL if it has any of them in it. They will make it a horrible movie because Kristen Stewart is just WAY to awkward to play the strong mighty Katniss Everdeen. I think they should have new people play the characters, maybe even fans! I really hope that this movie will not go down in shame like twilight did. As a student myself having read all of the books several times, I just hope The Hunger Games movie all works out well...may the odds be ever in your favor...directors...
